According to the latest report on the quality assessment of Greek bathing waters, just published by the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, you could practically drink the water at 99% of the sampling points, as they have been classified as “excellent quality.” In fact, you could enjoy the sea anywhere in Greece, as 99.94% of sampling points were assessed as suitable for bathing according to European Directive 2006/7/EC.
This assessment involved evaluating microbiological parameters at more than 1,694 sampling points throughout Greece and statistically analyzing the results over a four-year period.
